I know it's been a while since I have posted on this blog. I am giving it new life. Expect to see some new portraits and information. Starting with a company that sells some of the cutest little kids clothing.

I have had a lot of clients raving about them. Check them out on facebook.

Photography by Sara Jane
My name is Sara and I am a mom of two girls, wife of 13 years and photographer. I live in a small town in Kansas and enjoy capturing moments of people's life on camera. My favorite type of session is outdoors with a country theme. I try to do my own style of photography rather the normal cookie cutter portraits. My goal is to have you cry, laugh and smile when view your portraits after our session. Emotions are a big thing with me and If I have succeeded in all three then I have done my job.

Family Fun
The day was gorgeous and a beautiful 80 degrees. This family decided to do family portraits and then of their little one. You couldn't ask for a more perfect day. Little E was all smiles during her first birthday session and so was her parents. Mom had picked out the most adorable pink polka dot balloon for her little princess to pose with and the lake background made a gorgeous contribute to the portraits. This was one of those sessions that just makes you smile when you look back at it. While everyone likes posed sessions they also love those lifestyle sessions that show your personality. This was one of those sessions were both styles were mixed together.
Pregnancy Portrait Session
Welcoming a little one is always exciting. I love taking pregnancy portraits because it not only shows the glow of the expecting mother but also the love the family has for their unborn blessing. This particular session was planned just days before mom was due to have her little boy. The day started out warm and sunny and ended up cold and windy. Since we didn't have time to reschedule before the baby was here the family braved through it. The end results made it worth the cold chilly weather.

Easter 2013
Every year I gather up some adorable real baby chicks, tiny newborn ducklings and sweet baby bunnies for my Easter sessions. Rather than pose them with the little kids I instead have the kids interact with them. They get to hold them, cuddle them, pick them up and kiss them (yes I said kiss them). These are always so much fun and do my most work through the whole year with these sessions.
This year though was different, the cold got to us all. It was freezing outside and snowy half the week. I had them two weeks and I believe we got two good days of portraits and that was it. So sadly there wasn't as many beautiful portraits to share. Next year I am hoping that the cold weather goes away fast so we can have a beautiful spring. These were done the end of March and they were so much fun. I don't do a lot of props it's more about capturing the interaction and expressions of the kids. Here is an assortment of the photos I took this Easter of the kids as well as the little video I put together. I just wish so much it had been nicer and more green outside.

Braving the chilly weather....
This gorgeous momma has had sessions with me a few times before. I always love how they are up for anything and are always laughing and joking with each other. The girls truly love each other and it's fun watching them grow up over the years. I am always so thankful to take their beautiful portraits.
